I just saw Joyce Carol Oates on her book tour and I can totally believe she would enjoy “Boogaloo” and also that she would write a blurb in 2049 when she is…100 years old. Someone in the crowd asked her about how she was so prolific and she mentioned jogging, mapping out an entire story in her head, then returning home and writing it longhand. She’s currently 85 and jogs!
I think JCO will be well past 100 in 2049! But indeed, I also think this was the most realistic of all my fake blurbs, and I intended it as simultaneous mockery and homage.
